2013 Scott Scale 960 Cross Country Mountain Bike

Price and Wheel Size
The 2013 Scale 960, manufactured by Scott, is a hardtail mountain bike intended for entry level riders. Its retail price is $1,420, which is $630 less expensive than the average mountain bike. It has 29 inch wheels. Bikes with 29 inch wheels, known as "29ers," are becoming increasingly more popular. They tend to handle roots, rocks, and other obstacles better than their 26 inch counterpart. They also have less rolling resistance, making them more efficient at keeping up a good speed with less pedalling.
Frame Material
Much of a bike's weight is determine by its frame. The 2013 Scale 960 has an aluminum frame, which tends to be fairlylight but stiff (little natural shock absorption).
